Hello Friend! I have been a teacher of Yoga for a good long while and I am super grateful for that. My classes tend towards vinyasa. My vinyasa can be gentle, sometimes more challenging and never the same (or so I have been told). When I take the seat of the teacher I feel as though I take a read on the students present and then offer a class designed to take you on a journey. My goal is to get you lost in the moment so that you find your Self. I want to leave you in a better place than when you came in. That is my design, that is my intention.
When joining a practice with me as your guide, we'll move progressively through poses selected to open the body, create deep relaxation, and help students move into peace. A practice with me focuses on breath and individual experience in one's own body, so the student may explore the depth or krama that is appropriate for them. I love to offer variations in poses and the use of props so everyone can feel successful and meet themselves where they are today.
I like to sprinkle a little bit of humor with my teaching, and enhance the experience with music and essential oils.
Yoga allows me to create a peaceful space among the excitement of life. Through the practice of yoga, I can calm the mind by connecting with breath and draw your attention inward. I strive to bring awareness to the strength and flexibility of the body, also the areas holding stress, tension or fear. I like to offer new ways to let go and make space for new opportunities. My classes mainly follow a vinyasa flow, using my knowledge as a exercise physiologist to add elements of specific muscle activation and function. I like to build up to new challenges, have fun and creative classes, and integrate breath for a combination of building heat and keeping practice gentle and cool.
I have been blessed because yoga has been a part of my life since I was three years old, when I began to practice my mother. Being a certified yoga teacher has allowed me to pass on this love of yoga with students, and meet new friends along the way. I hope that when we practice together we can breathe deeper, explore new poses and in general feel better. My classes will often have a balance of vinyasa and yin postures, while incorporating music during the class. I encourage students to challenge themselves, while finding an appropriate balance with modification and prop usage.
I have been practicing yoga since college and loved how it made me feel strong, empowered, and relaxed all at the same time. When I teach, my goal is for my students to feel the same. My classes mainly follow a vinyasa flow, focusing on using your breath with the movement of your body. I encourage students to listen to their body and find what feels good. I love to offer modifications to guide students in their practice to ensure they are getting the full benefits of each pose. I try to make class fun and hope everyone leaves feeling better than they came.
I offer a practice that is mellow, slow, and mindful. My class offerings include asana, pranyayma (breath work), and meditation. I like to offer the use of props to support poses and hands on adjustments so students can experience the pose in a different way. My wish is for students to step off their mats feeling refreshed, nourished, and balanced.
I have found that practicing Yoga has given me a physical and spiritual balance deepening body/mind awareness. I use my knowledge to guide students to that place of comfort and peace within their own body. Yoga has become a way to share health and happiness with her students. I combine my background in education with gentleness and compassion honoring each student's strengths and challenges.
